A detailed recount from a worker of a 7 year excavation to discover as much as possible about “Ur” an ancient city mentioned in the Hebrew Bible.
The First publish and 2nd impression - 1929
This edition - 1950

Most of this information is on the internet with more added over time as more discoveries have been made BUT this book contains views and recounts of events happening and roughly as they happened instead of a broad overview found on the internet.

Condition:
The dust cover is in Bad condition with many tears and varying amounts of dirt but has also not been kept in a collection from 1950 (75 years old by 2025)

The dust cover has kept the pages of the book itself in good condition.

You can see uneven weathering of the first and last cover page from the dust cover in the pictures.

The photo pages of the book are in amazing condition, none of them have been affected despite faint yellowing of the normal paper pages throughout the book.

There is some kind of cutting error on page 174 that has been folded to fit as normal by the previous owner.

There is a postage stamp on the inside for some reason of Thoth - Egyptian God of knowledge from the “Grahame book company SYDNEY”
